Takayna, also known as Tarkine, is a nationally designated World Heritage site located in Tasmania, Australia. It stands as the largest temperate rainforest in Australia and the second largest in the world, encompassing awe-inspiring ancient forests, mountains, and beaches. Takayna is notable in that it contains a remarkable concentration of First Nations' sites and provides habitat for many rare and endangered species. Regrettably, the ongoing threat of deforestation poses a persistent challenge to Takayna’s preservation.
This composition seeks to convey the beauty of Takayna. A beauty entwined with sadness - the emotion felt when contemplating the potential loss of this rare and precious environment.
